Honey Holding Exceeds Global Food Safety Standards

Collecting honey from domestic and international beekeepers and honey gatherers, Honey Holding provides approximately 20 million pounds of industrial honey to American bakeries and food processors each year. Headquartered in Baytown, Texas, Honey Holding has succeeded in becoming one of the largest dedicated honey suppliers in North America. It also maintains a history of compliance with the British Retail Consortium Global Standards and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).

Established in 1998 by the British Retail Consortium, the Global Standards serve to protect consumers from contaminated foods and unsafe manufacturing processes. They provide evaluation criteria for retailers who manufacture their own brands of food products and promote consistent quality. In addition, the standards help reduce the number of recalls, complaints, and rejected products.

Certified by the British Retail Consortium since 2012, Honey Holding received an A rating from the Consortium in April 2015 and also exceeded GFSI food safety standards. A number of factors contributed to the company’s accomplishment, including strict adherence to food safety plans and site standards, well-trained personnel, and rigorous product and process controls.
